In her recent memoir, “Silent Invasion: The Untold Story of the Trump Administration, Covid-19, and Preventing the Next Pandemic Before It’s Too Late,” Dr. Deborah Birx gamely confesses her tireless efforts to conceal her goal of imposing extreme lockdowns in response to COVID-19.  The architect of former President Donald Trump’s pandemic policy recounts with relish how her “sleight of hand” tactics and “subterfuge” successfully manipulated the Trump White House, state governors, and a public liable to resist.  Birx admits, “I didn’t have the numbers in front of me, yet, to make the case” for indefinite lockdowns to “slow the spread.”  But her determination to “revise” and “hide” her policy prescriptions triumphed over the limitations of the data.  Flogging her book on Fox News, Birx revealed, “I knew these [COVID] vaccines were not going to protect against infection,” casually adding, “I think we overplayed the vaccines.”
