Summer is officially over. The bounce-free political conventions are in the rearview mirror, and the mad scramble to Election Day has begun. On Monday, freshly crowned nominee Vice President Kamala Harris was joined by President Joe Biden to rally the swing state of Pennsylvania. Biden made a mad scramble of his campaign pitch.

Momentarily forgetting his inglorious departure from his party's presidential ticket, Biden boasted, "We've made a lot of progress. Kamala and I will build on that progress." Later, he teased, "Remember all the talk? 'Biden got elected. He's gonna do this planned economy. We're gonna collapse, and there's gonna be all this caving in, interest rates are gonna go through the ceiling?' C'mon, man!"

"C'mon, man," indeed.

Harris is desperately trying to offload her Bidenomics baggage, not take voters down bad memory lane. Polling guru Nate Silver currently gives Donald Trump a 52.4% chance of winning the Electoral College which would deliver the White House prize. The Washington Post grudgingly admits that "Harris is underperforming where Hillary Clinton was at this point in 2016." Worse yet, Harris "is even underperforming the 2020 ticket on which she appeared with Joe Biden."

After Biden's wobbly performance hitting all the wrong notes -- even declaring that Harris possesses the "moral compass of a saint" -- it's unlikely that Harris will appear with Biden again, soon -- other than in political attack ads.
