President-elect Donald Trump and soon-to-be former First Lady Dr. Jill Biden set social media tongues wagging, over the weekend, as photos captured the two leaning in for a surprisingly warm exchange at the reopening ceremony for the Notre Dame cathedral. A stark contrast to the First Lady's repeated public snubs of Vice President Kamala Harris, Fox Business host and former Trump economic advisor Larry Kudlow pronounced the Paris moment with Trump "outright flirtation" and "almost heavy duty petting."
Meanwhile, Democratic tempers are flaring that "it feels like Trump is president already," as one source close to senior members on Capitol Hill tells Politico, "There is no leadership coming from the White House." A former White House official grouses, "Democrats in Washington just want to get [Biden] and the people around him out the door," adding, "All he’s done in the last year has hurt the party every step of the way."
World leaders appear to have moved on, as well, with Trump's invitation to Paris the latest in a series of high profile diplomatic overtures. Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau made a beeline to Mar A Lago after Trump took to "X" threatening the northern neighbor with tariffs. Mexican president Claudia Sheinbaum, likewise, has publicly reassured the incoming president that "migrants and caravans are taken care of before they reach the border."
After Trump's reelection bang, Biden winds down with a whimper.
