The Trump Resistance is taking a holiday. After failing to topple the MAGA colossus, many of President-elect Donald J. Trump's foes are foregoing open rebellion, for now. Over the weekend, retiring Utah senator, failed GOP presidential candidate, and constant critic Mitt Romney confirmed to CNN that "MAGA is the Republican Party, and Donald Trump is the Republican Party today."

Former Obama White House official and CNN star Van Jones lectured fellow progressives to "cut it out." During an interview with Beltway gadfly Chris Cilizza, an exasperated Jones explained, "Let me just be very clear. Donald Trump is smarter than me, you, and all of his critics. You know how I know? Because he has the White House, the Senate, the House, the Supreme Court, the popular vote." For good measure, Jones added, "We're the idiots... [I]]t's the arrogance, it's the elitism, it's not respecting people, it's not listening to people" that has led to his party's current disarray.

Even Sunny Hostin, co-host of ABC's Trump bashing gabfest, "The View," now admits that she "missed the boat." Hostin, who comes from what she describes as "abject poverty," confessed, "My mistake was in terms of realizing that there are so many Americans that still have that experience that I grew up with." Hostin suggests, "Maybe it's time for the Democrats to do a little bit of this postmortem." They'll have at least four years.
